EMDR
EMDR stands for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. It is a comprehensive and evidence based approach to therapy to treat traumatic events and recalcitrant negative beliefs. This special approach utilizes the client's innate ability to heal through the body that is often holding strong and painful emotional memories.
I became interested in EMDR following a difficult car accident and had heard about it from my colleagues. I now use EMDR regularly in my practice to support those struggling with strong stress response to traumatic events or for those who cannot seem to break through to new and more positive thinking patterns.
You can read about EMDR at http://www.emdr.com/what-is-emdr/.
Together we could notice if EMDR might be a resourceful therapy for you. My work thus far using EMDR has produced much freer and lighter living for numerous peoples.
I find it a privilege to journey with the clientele I have served over the past 13 years as a psychotherapist. And, I bring 25 years of experience as an educator, caregiver, administrator, retreat directress, workshop leader (see my resume for details) and co-journeyer to support your unique healing process. Come join me, as together we seek Freedom Through Psychotherapy: Transforming Lives, Healing Hearts.
