A
re you looking for more freedom in your life? My practice is a place where we can together find FREEDOM THROUGH PSYCHOTHERAPY-Transforming Lives Healing Hearts. I have had the privilege to witness many people finding freedom, some even more than could be imagined.

I have a full time private practice in Mt. Washington, MD and Columbia, MD. I supervise Master's level clinicians. I served as an adjunct professor at Loyola University for many years post graduation. I counsel clients of all ages who have issues of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, spirituality and general mental health. Puppet therapy is available for adults, children and special groups (click the puppet therapy link below). My PhD combined psychology with spirituality. Spirituality issues are welcomed, but not required.

Welcome to Freedom through Psychotherapy

"We can endure, transcend, and transform the storminess when we see the meaning and mystery of it" (Kidd, 1990, p. 81). Thanks for joining me in the journey of transformation for many years in Mt. Washington and Columbia, MD. Please continue to keep me in mind for people about whom you care; send them for their own transformation by calling 443-831-1948, Freedom Through Psychotherapy, LLC. My abundant practice stays alive and well with your support.

I treat children, youth, and adults. I see clients of all ages who have issues of anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, bi-polar, ADD and/or LD, and general mental health concerns, including divorce/separation. My background includes specialties in codependency and addictions. EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) can be integrated into sessions.

Puppet therapy is available for adults and children using The Vizzini Puppet Therapy Model, 2001. Puppet Therapy Institute (P.T.I.) provides training for therapists on how to use humor and story in treating anxiety, depression and many other issues. To follow my dreams of training other professionals, I provided training via the web and telephone to California, Canada and even Greece and Sweden. I continue to use puppets in church and school settings, such as the Youth Advisors and "Children's Day" at The Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church, Baltimore, MD, at Archdiocesan school counselors, Villa Maria, Timonium, MD, at Elmer Wolfe Elementary, Union Bridge, MD and at Cradlerock Elementary School, Columbia, MD. I presented a workshop at the 75th National Puppet Festival Day and the Puppeteers Day for the Teaching Artist and Therapist at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. I also presented a workshop for the Puppeteers of America's Regional Conference in Wilmington, North Carolina and Washington, D.C. They were great experiences.

To follow my dreams of training other professionals, this year I provided training via the web and telephone to California, and even Sweden. In 2009 I presented a workshop at the Puppeteers of America's National Festival's Day for the Teaching Artist and Therapist in July at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. This past summer I also presented a workshop for the 2010 Puppeteers of America's Regional conference in Wilmington, North Carolina. They were great experiences.

As together we explore your personal relationship patterns, seek coping skills for your discomfort and encourage you to transform your losses into healing, you can be assured of a kind and listening heart and ear. I can help decrease your suffering and increase your ability to function more fully in all of your relationships, with yourself, with others, and if you have interest and so choose, a Higher Source.

The spiritual component of healing is welcome in my practice. Thank you once again for your support.

Peace and Blessings to You and Yours,

Dr. Joanne Vizzini
