Dr. Vizzini's Practice: 2011 in Review.
Columbia Open House 2011
"We can endure, transcend, and transform the storminess when we see the meaning and mystery of it" (Kidd, 1990, p. 81). Thanks for joining me on the journey of transformation for four years in Mt. Washington and six years in Columbia, MD. Please continue to keep me in mind for people about whom you care; send them for their own transformation by calling 443-831-1948, Freedom Through Psychotherapy, LLC. My abundant practice stays alive and well with your support.
I treat children, youth, and adults. I see clients of all ages who have issues of anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, bi-polar, ADD and/or LD, and general mental health concerns, including divorce/separation. My background includes specialties in codependency and addictions. EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) can be integrated into sessions.
Teaching graduate clinical and education courses at Loyola University and providing clinical supervision for Master's students continues to be a means of giving back what I've been given. I offer an ethics training for yoga teachers for Yama Studio/Yama Therapeutics, Baltimore, MD.
Puppet therapy is available for adults and children using The Vizzini Puppet Therapy Model 2001. Puppet Therapy Institute (P.T.I.) provides training for therapists on how to use humor and story in treating anxiety, depression and many other issues. To follow my dreams of training other professionals, this year I provided training via the web and telephone to California, and even Sweden. I continue to use puppets in church and school settings, such as the Youth Advisors and "Children's Day" at Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church, Baltimore, MD and most recently for Archdiocesan school counselors at Villa Maria, Timonium, MD. In 2009 I presented a workshop at the Puppeteers of America's National Festival's Day for the Teaching Artist and Therapist in July at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. This past summer I also presented a workshop for the 2010 Puppeteers of America's Regional conference in Wilmington, North Carolina. They were great experiences.
The spiritual component of healing is welcome in my practice. Thank you once again for your support.
Peace and Blessings to You and Yours,
