Psychotherapy is meant to meet the needs of the client, you, and to join with you to engage in a healing journey (you and the therapist, together). I am told by my clientele that the non-judgmental warmth I offer is key to them feeling safe in the relationship, and that this sometimes by itself facilitates them being able to look inside at places that are hurting or no longer working in their current lifestyle.

“When we become aware that we do not have to escape our pains, but that we can mobilize them into a common search for life, those very pains are transformed from expressions of despair into signs of hope” (Henri Nouwen, 1972). These words have touched me when I sit with others who are in pain; listening deeply, guiding and offering hope, and I have found them to be true for my clients as well.

Learning about oneself on a mental, emotional and for some, spiritual level, will create a bond with oneself that allows one to take the risk to make healthy changes and to strengthen the assets one has. It’s an exciting journey that at times has struggle and unexpected challenges, but it is not faced alone.

The journey to freedom is usually through releasing pent up emotions/thoughts and learning to practice self-care. For some sharing for the first time what was done to them to cause them harm takes great courage. Freedom comes, even self-forgiveness, for choices made out of pain that caused self or others harm. New ways to care for self can lead to releasing other’s judgment and practicing healthy boundaries in relationships. For some this growth strengthens or begins a relationship with a Higher Source. Healing one step at a time can lead to relief, a life with more ease, less stress.

Join me on this journey. I look forward to meeting you and to offering you that place to rest, and to share your troubles and worries for a time, so that together we can reflect upon them and seek a solution that works for you and your life. YOU are a unique and special individual. There is no one exactly like you, so we will seek a plan that fits your needs, your desires, and your hope for FREEDOM.
